Church plans homecoming services

Big Cowan

Hello everyone! Hard to believe it is October already. Has been beautiful.

All the festivals are winding down. I made it to Mountain Heritage Festival on Friday evening and saw several people from church, several people from Dairy Queen and some from the Hemphill and Neon area, and just good old homefolk.

I enjoy meeting and talking to people. Sometimes I am called jabber jaws. Ha, ha!

Birthdays this week: Jessica Robinson and Glen Miles will be 80, both on Oct. 3; and Bobby Bear Davis, 57, on Oct. 4.

Hoping they all have a wonderful day.

Prayers this week : Estelene Shepherd, Melinda Daniel (K.K.), Mike Fields, Tegan Shepherd, Maggie Stallard, Loraine Stuart, Kathy and Eddie Wolfe, Irene and Eugene Day, Kathleen Brock, Agnes Maggard, Audrey and Charles Hammonds, Archie and Margaret Fields, Della Mae Maggard, Elana Lowe (a daughter of Isom and Darlene Fields), all of my family, friends and neighbors, all the shut-ins, and those in the hospital and nursing homes, and our country.

Homecoming services will be held Oct. 8 – 12 with Bro. Don Enfusse at King’s Chapel Church, 7 p. m. nightly, and Sunday morning service at 11 a.m., with dinner following. Please come and join us, we are located across the bridge at Whitco, with Bro. Frank and Sister Jeanne Adams.

Remember Cowan Community Center will be having its 50-year anniversary on Oct. 25. Everyone from the community, try to attend. Will try to write more on that later on.

Well, hope everyone has a great week. Attend the church of your choice, be good to yourself and each other.

Until next time, may God bless.
