Church will sell dinners to raise funds

Big Cowan

Hello. I hope everyone is doing well this week. Not a lot going on this week, but the weather has been nice for a few days.

I want to wish Astor Fields Jr. a happy 59th birthday on Jan. 31, and a happy 72nd birthday to Fred ‘Little Man’ Smith on Jan. 31. All of us at the Freewill Baptist Church at Whitco love both of you, and you’re in our prayers.

Mark on your calendars that a benefit sing and dinner will be held Saturday, Feb. 6, at 6 p.m. at the Freewill Baptist Church at Whitco. Dinner will consist of fried chicken, baked ham, green beans, mashed potatoes, roll, dessert and a drink for $5. This dinner is for our building fund to buy furniture for the building, to help those in need.

Then, on Friday, Feb. 12, starting at 11 a.m., we will be selling meatloaf dinners (take out or eat in), which consist of meatloaf, mashed potatoes, corn, dessert and roll for $5, which will be used to help our church.

We really had a good service last Sunday morning, with 44 people in attendance. You could really feel the Spirit.

On the prayer list this week are Irene and Eugene Day, Agnes and Bill Maggard, Audrey and Charles Hammonds, Mary Ann Maggard, Mary Lou Fields, Melinda Daniel, Mike Fields, Kathy Wolfe, Burdene Gilley, Nezalene and Eugene Day, Hazel and Earl Rayburn, Della and Morris Maggard, all those enslaved by alcohol and drugs, our country, our service men and women, our police offi cers and firemen, all the rulers of the country, all the Christians, churches, pastors, sinners and the homeless.

If anyone needs to order meatloaf dinners, call one of the members before Feb. 12, or call our pastor, Johnny Collier, 633-0995, or call me at 633-0439.

Until next time, attend the church of your choice, and may God bless you.
