Clarence Cephus Roy, 84, died December 29 at his home in Fleming-Neon.
Born in Weldon, Ill., he was a son of the late William Roy and Goldie Hinkle Roy.
He was the father of the late Rick Roy, a brother of the late Bobby Roy, Harold Roy, Tom Roy and Merle Roy.
He was married to the late Winnie Sizer Roy, and after her death he married Lois Hill, who survives him.
A retired farmer, he was in the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II, and served in Guam. Roy was a former city council member and former water commissioner for the City of Neon, and was a volunteer with the LKLP Head Start.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are a son Tim Roy and wife Ruth Ann of Mahomet, Ill.; a daughter, Ernestine Kincer and husband G.C. of Jenkins; two brothers, Dale Roy of Kankakee, Ill., and Jim Roy of Logansport, Ind.; two sisters, Ruth Shull and Martha Dodge, both of Mahomet, Ill.; nine grandchildren, Derrick Roy, Heather Roy, Kristen Roy, Shannon Roy, Mandy Elgakhlab, Aaron Andres, Jason Kincer, Aaron Kincer and Emily Kincer; and three great-grandchildren, Kendrick Roy, Yazin Elgakhlab and Madison Andres.
A memorial service was held January 3 at Jenkins United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens at Champaign, Ill.
