The Bottomfork Clean-Up Coalition recently held its fifth clean-up of Bottomfork and Crafts Branch since its formation in the spring of 2007. Garbage gathered during the clean-up is pictured below. The “Welcome to Bottomfork” sign (above) was purchased with funds from the Litter Abatement Program and contributions from Bottomfork residents. The sign was mounted by volunteers. Coalition officials said, “Many thanks to our volunteers who show up rain or shine and get their hands dirty for the betterment of our community. Also, thanks to Kim at the county road department for being so easy to work with and the PRIDE program which helps make this possible. Special thanks to Carroll Smith for the foresight of establishing the recycling center, and Gary and all the other good folks over there for their good work.”
