The fourth annual Coal Miners Memorial Bluegrass Festival held on Sept. 1 was a tremendous success again this year. Our thanks go out to Rob Fleming and Mark Spangler who organize this meaningful fun event each year. The festival is a cooperative effort of The Letcher County Coal Miners Monument Committee, Letcher Co. Tourism, County/Judge Executive Jim Ward and the Fiscal Court, Hemphill Community Center, and many others. Our thanks also to the many sponsors.

Important note: Friday Nite Pickin’ will not take place during the month of September in observance of Mountain Heritage Festival events. We will resume on the first Friday of October with Will Caudill and Rt 7 at 7:30 p.m.
