Colson center getting new swings for playground

Congratulations and best wishes to Raymond Pettibone and his bride Shanna Clouse of Lexington. Raymond and Shanna were married Juy 12 in Lexington. The reception was held at the American Legion Post 8. Raymond is the son of Ron and Darlene Sexton Pettibone. Darlene e-mailed me some pictures.

Get well wishes to Beatrice Banks of Beaver Dam. We all love her so much. Emma Jean has been staying a few days with her. We are so happy that Buddy Roe is home and doing better. Buddy you stay on the porch! No grass cutting or gardening.

Our seniors enjoyed the Health Fair at Mayking. We had our blood pressure, sugar and cholestrol checked. We always enjoy seeing the seniors from other centers. We also got some nice gifts. After the fair we went to Pizza Hut and then to Vendors Mall. Linda Sturgill can ferret out a bargain blindfolded so she helps us shop.

Keith Baker had a cook out last Friday to celebrate Chas’s birthday. Carol said the food was delicious. I’m sure Edsel enjoyed it.

Get well wishes and our prayers are with Sue Webb. She is the daughter of Norma Jean Sexton Caudill. Norma Jean and I were both raised on Beaver Dam and went to school together. Sue’s dad is James Allen Caudill.

Brittany Brock called this week. She misses being here with us. We love that child so much. Lettie said my brothers (her nephews) Warren and Ken had visited them this week. She hadn’t seen out nephew Sean Baker in years. Sean lives in Sadieville. Our nephew Jaegar (Jill’s son) was also with them.

Our sympathy goes to Connie Cook. Her grandson died this past week. His name was Justin Sturgill. He lived in Nicholasville and was taken there for burial. May God bless Connie and all of her family.

I was shocked to read in the paper of the death of Vernon Brown. He and his wife Bobbie used to stop by Parkway Pharmacy when they would come back to visit their family. To all of his family go our sympathy and prayers. Vernon and Bobbie lived in Ohio.

We have been enjoying blueberries, plums and peaches from our orchard. Our garden is late. I hope I get some corn before the coons do. Most years they invite their friends and family and have a reunion before we get any. They sure have a big family!

I enjoyed a weekend in Richmond with my family. I spent one night with Randy and his family and one with Shari and hers. Our little Rylee keeps us all on the go. We had a little rain shower on Saturday while she and I were on the porch. I let her put her hands out in the rain and she ended up with all of her in the rain. She loved it.

Shari and her family left Sunday after church for Pigeon Forge. They stayed until Thursday night. They had a marvelous time.

I want to say hi to Dan. He told me not to mention him in the paper.

Our center is getting new swings for the playground and it’s looking good.

Until next time may God Bless us all!
