Kentucky Laureate RHO Sorority met Oct. 1 at the home of Liz Lee, who had beautiful fall decorations throughout the home. So very festive.
The theme for the evening was “Getting ready for the holidays.”
We decorated a clear bottle with clear mini-lights and holiday scenes. So pretty. Liz always has great craft ideas.
Co- hostesses Ellen Compton and Jo Champion served a delicious potato soup, sandwich and pumpkin dessert to Vernell Mullins, Irene Smith, Norma Collins, Mahala Frazier, Ann Reynolds, Cheryl Hall, Sally Caudill, Ann Bradley, Shannon Mullins, Anna Hall and Delta Craft.
Delta has been on leave, and we are so happy to welcome her back.
Jolinda Wright conducted the business session. We will be purchasing a brick in memory of deceased members to be placed on the ARH walkway, and will again this year give a donation to Whitesburg United Methodist Women to help with gifts for Letcher Manor Nursing Home.
Happy birthday to Janie Frazier on Oct. 12. Wish you were here so we could celebrate with you. We miss you.
October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month. (Ladies, don’t forget to get your mammogram.)
Whitesburg ARH had a luncheon Oct. 14 at Pine Mountain Grill. They had a large crowd and everyone looked beautiful in pink.
Dr. Dustin Campbell and Dr. Dave Trwilligar showed a film and gave a very informative talk on breast cancer awareness and the importance of self-exam.
Thanks to Rachel Breeding. She always does a fantastic job organizing these events.
Attending from Laureate RHO were Sally Caudill, Delta Craft, Mahala Frazier, Irene Smith and Jolinda Wright. Attending from Beta Kappa were Linda Clark, Jackie Frazier, Lee Anna Mullins and Shelia Swisher.
Ann Estep celebrated a birthday on Oct. 19. She was Ellen Compton’s secret sister and they traveled to Virginia to see the movie, “Big Stone Gap.” Joining them were Sandy Banks, Ann Bradley, Sally Caudill, Jo Champion, Irene Smith, Janet Tucker and guest Nancy Manning. They had a picnic lunch at Robo’s.
