November 3 — The 2018 Harvest Showcase will be hosted by the fifth grade class at Martha Jane Potter Elementary School from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the MJP gym. The cost of admission is $1, and includes entry into a door prize drawing. Vendors will include ColorStreet Nails, Thirty One, Southern KY Trends, and many other local crafters, along with concessions and silent auctions. For more information, call 606-855- 7544.
November 10 — Carcassonne Community Center will host its November square dance from 6 to 9 p.m., presented by Isom IGA. Music by Sunrise Ridge. Admission is adults, $5, students 6-18, $3, children under 6, free with paying adult. Concessions, a special meal, and souvenirs will be available for purchase. Caller is Will Bowling. Carcassonne is known as the home of the longest-running community sponsored square dance in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. This will be the final Carcassonne square dance of 2018. Dances will resume in March, weather permitting.
November 12 — Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College will hold a workshop to make holiday keepsakes at Whitesburg Campus Caudill Hall, Student Lounge from 6 to 8 p.m. Sandy Holbrook and Peggy Conklin will be instructors at the workshop which will cost $10. Children (ages 2-10) will paint their own handmade wooden ornaments to decorate for Christmas. Adults and parents will create their own holiday wreath.
