November 2 — Autism Awareness Advocates will hold an auction on 103.9 Bulldog radio station starting at 5:30 p.m. night. Funds will benefit a sensory park in Letcher County for children with disabilities of all ages. The park will be located adjacent to the Whitesburg City Swimming

. November 5 — Danny’s Day, an event to fight brain cancer, will be held at the Isom IGA Plaza from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will include a bake and hot dog sale and a cakewalk. Isom IGA will donate 5 percent of its earnings and other proceeds will benefit Danny Allen of Isom, son of Lynn Bolling. Vendors are welcome to set up. For more information, call Teresa at 212-1187.

. November preachers, pastors, teachers and residents of Letcher County are invited to a day of prayer at noon at Riverside

Park in Whitesburg. The day is non-denominational. All are welcome to pray for our country’s leaders. For more information, call Buddy Sexton at 633-4731 or 634-5704.

. November 5 — Bluegrass Circle will play at Country Cabin II in Norton, Va. The show will take place from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $1 for children 2 to 11 years old.

. November 11 — A Veterans Day program will take place in the Letcher County Central High School gymnasium at 9:30 a.m. A free breakfast will be held in the LCCHS cafeteria beginning at 8:30 a.m., and all veterans are invited to attend. For more information call, the school at 633-2339.

. November 13 — A gospel singing featuring Voices of Victory of Coeburn, Va., will take place at the Pound Church of God of Prophecy, 8948 Mill Creek Road, Pound, Va. The singing will begin at 11 a.m. and everyone is welcome. Hermon Belcher is the pastor of the church and can be reached for more information at 606-634-6771.

. November 18 — A luncheon will be held at the

Letcher County Extension Office beginning at 11 a.m. The theme for the program is “Managing Diabetes, It’s Not Easy, But It’s Worth It.” The program is free and includes speakers on the subject. For more information or to register for the event, call 633-2362 by November 11.

. November 19 — The Carcassonne square dance will be held at the Carcassonne Community Center at 7 p.m. This is the last scheduled dance for 2016. . December 9 — The Letcher County Extension Office will sponsor a holiday bazaar at the County Extension Office in Whitesburg from noon to 9 p.m. Attendance is free to the public. Crafts, gift ideas, lovingly used holiday ornaments and decorations, bake sale items and handmade items will be available. Soup and salads will be for sale.
