November 11 — A Veterans Day program will take place in the Letcher County Central High School gymnasium at 9:30 a.m. A free breakfast will be held in the LCCHS cafeteria beginning at 8:30 a.m., and all veterans are invited to attend. For more information call, the school at 633-2339.
. November 12 — Benny Jones Band will play at Country Cabin II in Norton, Va. The show will take place from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $1 for children 2 to 11 years old.

November 12 — A free healthy baby workshop sponsored by KIDS NOW Plus Program and the Kentucky River Community Care Regional Prevention Program, will be held at noon at the Letcher County Extension Office in Whitesburg. Women attending will receive free baby items plus door prizes, and lunch will be provided. Pregnant women in Letcher and surrounding counties and those up to two months post-partum are invited to attend. No registration is required. . November 13 — A gospel singing featuring Voices of Victory of Coeburn, Va., will take place at the Pound Church of God of Prophecy, 8948 Mill Creek Road, Pound, Va. November 18 — A luncheon will be held at the Letcher County Extension Office beginning at 11 a.m. The theme for the program is “Managing Diabetes, It’s Not Easy, But It’s Worth It.” The program is free and includes speakers on the subject. Carcassonne square dance will be held at the Carcassonne Community Center at 7 p.m. This is the last scheduled dance for 2016. . November 19 — The annual Isom Presbyterian Women of the Church Christmas Bazaar will take place at 9 a.m. in the basement of the Isom Presbyterian Church. Handmade items and food will be sold. Barbecue dinners will be available for $5. For more information, call Jackie at 633-0930.
. November 22 — The National Black Lung Association will meet at 2 p.m. at the Letcher County Extension Office, 478 Extension Drive in Whitesburg. Staff members of the Respiratory Clinics of Eastern Kentucky and local attorneys who assist with federal black lung claims will be at the meeting to provide information and answer questions. All retired and active miners, widows, spouses and others who are interested in working with the local chapter of the National Black Lung Association to improve the black lung laws for miners and their dependents are requested to attend. . December 9 — The Letcher County Extension Office will sponsor a holiday bazaar at the County Extension Office in Whitesburg from noon to 9 p.m. Attendance is free to the public. Crafts, gift ideas, lovingly used holiday ornaments and decorations, bake sale items and handmade items will be available. Soup and salads will be for sale.
