January 12 — Story hour for children will be held at 11:30 at the Jenkins Public Library, 1 p.m. at the Harry M. Caudill Memorial Library in Whitesburg, and 4 p.m. at the Neon Public Library.

January 14 — Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College will host the annual community diversity breakfast to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at 9 a.m. in the Benton Schoolhouse Inn.
