Conference scheduled Oct. 8-9



The third annual Prevention of Failure Conference will take place in Hindman at the Opportunity Center on October 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The conference focuses on early identification of struggling learners. The Institute will feature Barbara Hunter, director of the Springer School Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, who will share identification and intervention approaches for struggling students preschool through Grade 3. Cindy Heine, associate director for the Pritchard Committee for Academic Excellence, will address the importance of identification to the early childhood community. October is Dyslexia Awareness month and Lt. Gov. Daniel Mongiardo will address the group emphasizing the importance of community awareness in early identification.
