In what may set a record for brevity in city council meetings, the Fleming- Neon City Council conducted its business at the October meeting in just under five minutes. During that period, the council learned that water losses for the month of September stood at 32 percent and that water plant operator Josh Arnold has achieved his Second Class Collector’s Certification.
In other business, the council learned that the Neon Days Committee will conduct a Halloween Safe Night on Saturday October 31 from 5 until 8 p.m. The event will be held at the city stage area if the weather permits. In the event of rain, the festivities will move into City Hall.
No new or old business was proposed and Police Chief Mike Dingus told the council he had nothing to report.
