Friday, Aug. 15: Cross Country Bluegrass

Friday, Aug. 22: Dawson Creek

Friday, Aug. 29: Sunrise Ridge

Aspiring singers and musicians who want to share their talents are invited to play during intermission on Friday nights. The target audience is bluegrass/country/folk. Limit 2 songs per individual/ group until all who wish to pick have had a turn. Rotation as time allows. You will always find a kind and receptive crowd. We have some veteran musicians playing in featured bands who played their first public appearance as a novice on our stage. This is an opportunity to break the ice and get your feet wet so to speak. Everyone welcome!

Saturday, Aug. 30, there will be a potluck dinner and music at the Center beginning at p.m. Please bring a covered dish and join us.

The Coal Miner’s Memorial Festival will be held on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 1 at 2 p.m. with opening remarks and invocation by Bro. Mike Sturgill. At 2:30 p.m., Cross Country Bluegrass will be playing the best in bluegrass. Dawson Creek will take the stage at 4:00. Last but not least, Mountain Melody will play for us beginning at 5:30 p.m.. At sundown there will be a candle lighting ceremony for the fallen miners. Please make plans to be with us all day. There will be great music on the outside stage.

Due to time constricts, there will not be a time for open mic during this festival. Bring two chairs and a friend and plan to hang out with us all day. Admission free. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
