County, city governments set trick-or-treating times

County-wide trick-ortreating is set for 5 until 8 p.m. on Oct. 31.

Halloween safe nights are scheduled to take place in several communities Monday evening.

The City of Whitesburg’s safe night will be held downtown. Businesses and organizations are encouraged to give out candy from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

A ‘trunk-or-treat’ event will take place in the parking lot of First Baptist Church of Whitesburg from 5 until 9 p.m. Members of the church will decorate the trunks of their cars and will hand out candy.

A safe night sponsored by the City of Jenkins and the Jenkins Homecoming Days Festival Committee is set for 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Jenkins City Park.

The City of Fleming-Neon’s safe night will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. at the city stage area.

Hemphill Community Center will host a safe night from 6 until 8 p.m.

Campbell’s Branch Community Center and McRoberts Community Center will have safe nights from 5 until 8 p.m. on Oct. 31.

On Friday night, McRoberts Elementary School will have a safe night from 4:30 until 6 p.m.
