Cousins celebrate birthdays

Happy birthday to my nephew Joshua Dixon. He turned 21 on July 27. Happy birthday to my son Justin Combs. He turned 20 on July 31.

Rhonda Hatton, formerly of Blackey, has been in a hospital in Lexington. She had surgery and they found out she has cancer. Her sister Donna told me she will be starting chemo treatments. I wish her the best. Rhonda is married but I’m not sure of her husband’s name.

Happy birthday to Opal Jent of Carcassonne, Jeremy Maggard of Letcher, Greg Caudill of Carcassonne, Dee Roark of Carcassonne, and Craig Abbinanti of Whitesburg. All have birthdays on July 31.

Martin Joe Caudill of Caudills Branch is in the Pikeville hospital with congestive heart failure. He was admitted last Wednesday.

Happy birthday to Aubrey Grace Patterson. She turned two on July 22. She is the daughter of Mallory Eldridge and James Patterson of Whitesburg. The grandparents are Mike and Karen Eldridge of Elk Creek, and Eric and Kaye Patterson of Whitesburg. Her greatgrandpa is Hubert Eldridge of Elk Creek.

My neighbor Ella Mae Smith has been having problems with her lungs and had to have some tests. I hope everything turns out okay and she starts feeling better.

Tara Couch of Linefork has been in the hospital again with kidney problems. I wish her the best. She has been in a lot in the last few months.

Rita and Bruce Gilley of Letcher and her parents Junior and Olale Adams along with her sister Steph and husband Jamie Johnson and a couple of other sisters went to Gatlinburg for a few days. Junior has been sick but is doing better.

On Saturday myself, my sister Terry Dixon, and our parents P-nut and Jean Blair had plans to go to Virginia to some flea markets but were rained out, so we went to the new vendors mall at Fleming-Neon. It is a nice big place. Not all the booths are taken but there were a few with things in them. It’s worth going and checking out. Afterward we went out to eat and had a really nice day, even with the rain.

We have been trying to find somewhere to buy peanut beans or some people call them pink beans and can’t find any. If anyone knows where I could get, some please call me at 606- 633-0008.
