Bennett and Linda Combs had around 21 people to celebrate Thanksgiving. About 16 stayed the night and a good time was had by all.

Linda sends birthday wishes to Lois Brown Sturgill of Ohio, and Watson Combs, both on Dec. 12, and also to Yvonne Brown Sutphin’s daughter, Teresa Frame, on Dec. 15. She lives in Goode, Va.

Happy birthday to Senator Robert Stivers on Dec. 24. He lives in Manchester and Frankfort, and is married to Regina Combs Crawford.

It seems that Christmas celebrations started early this year, and continued all month.

The Cowan Homemakers treated themselves to lunch at Pine Mountain Grill for our December meeting. The next day we met at the Cowan enter to tack a Christmas quilt for the Cowan Community Center’s auction, and had a good, impromptu lunch.

Anna Yonts had a good old-time breakfast for her Aunt Virginia and cousins Carol Caudill and myself. Anna is a great cook and everything was delicious, sausage, eggs, biscuits, gravy, fried apples and hot blackberry jam.

Virginia and I had a wonderful surprise last Sunday afternoon. Brother Greg Hill, Kim Robinette, Kim’s mother Ruby Robinette and her sister Kathy Lawson, Henrietta Adams and her grandson Casey Breeding all came by for a visit. We had such a good time of fellowship, singing and prayer.

Jill Kent, Rebecca Eskew and Carol Caudill visited with Shawn and Renee Stevenson in Bexley, Oh. They attended a production of ‘The Little Match Girl.’ Spencer Stevenson had a role and did a great job.

Helen Tolliver, Patsy Adams, Sheila Webb and Evelyn Fields celebrated Christmas together at the home of Carol Caudill on Little Cowan.
