I wrote about the feasibility of a prison being located in this area. I for one am in favor of the idea. But no matter where a prison is located, people will be opposed to it.
A prison would provide many jobs and people behind bars where they belong. Some people are afraid the convicts would escape and cause harm to others. These people need to wake up and smell the coffee. We have people walking up and down our streets who are as dangerous as some of those behind bars. We have thieves in there and thieves out here. We even have killers in there but have even more running loose.
After all, what is the difference between killing with a deadly weapon and with pills? A dealer could care less who buys or what happens to the buyer. The almighty dollar is all they worry about.
The same goes for those who steal the telephone lines. They never think of the fact that someone might need help in an emergency and the phone is the only way to get help. All they want is copper to sell to support their habit, whatever it may be.
They, too, belong behind bars.
As I stated before, schooling should be a prerequisite. Stealing grave markers is as low as a thief could possibly get. But it just goes to show that thieves have no respect for the living or for the dead or for themselves.
If anyone is guilty of a crime, they should have to do the time because the best crime prevention is a good solid deterrent.
Until next time from the funny farm.
