The Valentine shindig went really well. We had a great crowd and dinner was awesome too. Many thanks to the Country Troubadours for donating their time, talent, and treasure to further our outreach efforts. These are generous men who are extremely talented. All who attended this benefit show had a nice time.
Please support live music.
Schedule of events:
Senior Fellowship Tuesdays at 10 a.m. Lunch and service provided by seniors for seniors. Hold on to your hat because this is a spunky crew! They don’t need no rocking chair.
Friday Nite Pickin’ Feb. 17 at 7:30 pm: Cross Country Bluegrass will be back for the best in country and bluegrass music. These guys are worth the trip to visit. Their cohesiveness is a marvel. Their musicianship is really cool. I can’t tell you enough just how good they are at what they do. These guys have been hanging out around our place for a few years now. Buddy has been around for probably 18 years or so. To say we think they are great friends is an understatement. You need to come on out and check them out. We’ll be watching for you!
Feb. 24: The Right Fork Ramblers.
Sunday, Feb. 26, from 2 to 5 p.m. The monthly shape note singing in the do ra mi tradition. This is an ancient art form. It will feed your soul’s need for creative expression. No experience necessary, no talent necessary, no church affiliation necessary! Come out and join us for this community effort to rebuild the singing culture in Hemphill, for which we were once well known. Please bring a snack to share and a dollar or two for a love offering for the facility. Coffee and water will be provided. All are welcome!
March 3: Will Caudill and Rt. 7.
March 10: The Country Troubadours.
March 12: Sunday dinner from 12 to 3 p.m. This month we are having hot soup and sandwiches. Menu TBA. $12 adults, $8 children, children 3 and under eat free. Available for carryout. This is a monthly fundraiser for the center on the second Sunday of each month.
