Cross-country teams going to state




 

 

The Letcher County Central High School boys’ and girls’ cross country teams both placed first Saturday in the regional meet. The teams now advance to state next Saturday in Lexington. The team was welcomed back in Whitesburg with a ride a Whitesburg Fire Department trucks, followed by several parents honking their horns behind them. Three girls and five boys placed in the top 10, ( left to right) Kelah Eldridge, Cody Gregory, Kelsey Mullins (first in the girls’ run), Nicole Banks, James Goose Gose, Tyler Smith (first in the boys’ run), Cole Cornett, and Trenton Whitaker.



The members of the girls' team are (left to right) Mariah Mullins, Tabitha Staley, Talena Taylor, Samantha Mullins, Kelah Eldridge, Freddi Adams, Micca Boggs, Nicole Banks, Kelsey Mullins, Carlenia Gose, Shannon Bays, assistant coach Cassie Stamper, coach Sally Hubbard, and assistant coach Faye Collier.
