We had a busy week at our center with lots of activities leading up to Christmas.
Tuesday, some of us went to Pikeville shopping. We had brunch at Bob Evans and went shopping at several stores, then we ate at Steak and Shake.
As you can see, our trips are mainly, “Where are we going to eat?” Eating is one of our favorite things to do.
We had our potluck and Christmas party last Friday. Our senior ladies sure brought some good food. They can cook! We had a huge crowd, and our dining room ran over into the quilting room.
It was really nice to have Helen Bentley visiting from Bowling Green. We miss her since she has moved.
Ladies from Mountain Medical Equipment came to our party and donated nice gifts. We had several door prizes, including flower arrangements from Messenger Florist and Whitesburg Florist.
Abby Wynn’s beautiful cake was donated by Community Trust Bank, and is always welcome at our center. We sure enjoy them.
I forgot to mention that Santa Claus came to our party! We thank Darrell Holbrook for this, and I think Lizzie Mae had something to do with this so he would think she has been good all year. We had a gift exchange, and folks went home with nice gifts.
We have a wonderful time and good fellowship at Ermine Center. Come join us if you are 60 years of age or more. Most of us don’t like to admit the ‘more.’
Prayer list : Joe Bentley, Lennon Hammock, George Fields, Ruby Caudill, Martha Harris, Patty Majority, Jeanetta Cook, and Minnie Craft.
Thought for the week from Daily Bread: “Wise men still seek Him,” and “Jesus is the reason for the season.”
