Former Jenkins resident Dana Harmon Long Jr., 82, died July 3 in Pennsylvania.
A son of the late Dana Harmon and Naomi Wright Long and stepson of Louis Quick, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a Mason.
He was employed by the House of Representatives for four years, and then the Washington D.C. Post Office for four years, and was retired from William H. Rorer Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Robinson Long; a son, Dana H. Long III; a daughter, Catherine Young and husband John; two aunts, Edith Davis and Pauline Wright; and sistersin law Virginia Jones and Catherine Robinson.
A memorial service was held July 12 in Hellertown, Penn.
