DAR holds meeting, auction

Elsie Banks says hello to everyone.

The Pine Mountain Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution Family Night meeting and auction was held at the UK Extension building, May 13. Members present were Nina Craft, Danna Richardson, Betty Horn, Ann Reynolds, Marsha Banks, Sally Caudill, Patsy Nantz, Mahala Frazier, Stella Elam, Linda Lucas, Shirley Whitaker and Merlene Day.

Guests were Linda Jarrett, Eugene Horn, Peyton Reynolds, Carl Banks, Herbert Caudill, Jerry Nantz, Sonny Frazier, Irene Smith, Vernell Mullins, Ann Bradley and Richard Smith.

Twenty-five year pins were presented to Glenda Sexton, Stephanie Sexton Bentley, Nina Craft, Betty Horn, Ida Wright, Ladonna Wright Snyder, Patsy Nantz and Jean Wells Marks.

Over $500 was raised in a silent auction and a regular auction. The auctioneer was Richard Smith, who did a great job. Colson

Mae Boggs and Randy Brown visited Phoebe Fields last Sunday. They were happy to see her doing so well.

Robby Brown of Myrtle Beach, S.C., has been visiting his family this past week. He and his brother Richard and others went fishing in Tennessee.

Dustin and Jenna Crawford are visiting family in Brodhead, Berea and Frankfort. Jenna attended the Kentucky Oaks horse race the day before the Derby Race in Louisville.

Get well wishes to Pearl Noble, who recently had hip surgery.

Happy birthday to Robby’s daughter, Rachel Brown Rankin of Raleigh, N.C., May 31.
