Allison Day received the Education Department’s Special Education Award during the 50th annual Honors Day Convocation at University of the Cumberlands in Williamsburg.
The daughter of Paula and David Day of Cowan, Day is a senior education major with a minor in Spanish who will earn dual certification in elementary education and P-12 special education. She
will graduate magna cum laude
with a GPA of 3.85, and she received the ETS Recognition of Excellence for her performance on the PRAXIS, the national teaching examination.
Day has been a resident director, a worship planning leader for Baptist Campus Ministries, and she has served with mission teams in New Orleans, Michigan, Alabama and Georgia. She will pursue a teaching position this fall.
