Hello everyone! Hoping everyone is having a good week.
Looks like Isom Days went well with the rodeo and all. It looked like it was packed when we dropped Mike and Melinda off Saturday night.
Hope Mountain Heritage goes well.
Late happy anniversary to R.C. and Frances Day. They were married 60 years ago on Aug. 31 in South Carolina. They have two sons, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
I talked to R.C. on the phone the other day, and he said Frances had been in the hospital and is now back at Letcher Manor for rehab. Keep her in prayer.
R.C. and I talked about old-timey chestnut trees, papaw bushes and different things. He said that he and my late grandma, Susan Maggard Fields, used to hoe corn together. He asked about my uncle Ison Fields. It was really good talking to him.
Ruby Jean Day Howard called the other day from Indiana. She said to tell Irene and Eugene Day hi. She said to keep Brenda Jones Howard in prayer.
Sue Banks called on Saturday and left a message that Shannon, a daughter of the late Lorraine and Lewis Adams, had died. I’m assuming that she lived in Indiana. My sympathy goes out to the family.
Eddie Wolfe said that Jeff Slone, a preacher, was in the Pikeville Hospital with complications from surgery a few days ago.
Katie and Tim Dobson will be married 29 years on Sept. 9. Happy anniversary.
It’s hard to believe that my brother, Archie Ray Fields, will be 69 years old on Sept. 12. Hoping he has a wonderful birthday, and I love him very much.
Audrey and Charles Hammonds came in for a few days, then went to southern Ohio to spend a few days with Charles’s friend. We weren’t expecting them, but they both looked and said they felt better than they had in a long time.
Well folks, I can’t think of anything else to write, so I will go for now. Have a wonderful week.
May God bless each and every one of you until next time.
