Deadline for applications for the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) and the Wildlife Habitat Incentive Program (WHIP) is January 29, 2010.
EQIP, which is administered by the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, provides technical and financial (cost-share) assistance to land users to address concerns on natural resources.
WHIP provides landowners an opportunity to improve wildlife habitat. The program provides financial incentives for installing eligible practices on land they own or control. The landowner must devote at least 10 acres to eligible wildlife practices.
