Hello everyone. I’m still a one-armed bandit, but do have a smaller cast and still lots of pain.
Red is really miserable with his shingles. He was in a lot of pain today but we’ll survive.
We’ve had lots of snow, but there was sunshine recently. We’re supposed to have higher temperatures for the rest of this week. Hopefully no more snow.
We’re still getting some calls and some beautiful cards, which we want to thank everyone for. I’ve received calls from a Maggard in Partridge, and Greely Bates in Winchester, Ind. He said the Band Mill was a lumber mill belonging to Ritter Lumber Co., out of North Carolina.
I got a call from Wanda Ferrell from near Fort Knox. I really enjoyed talking with her.
I want to thank two special, handsome neighbor boys who have been keeping our driveway clean. I know some people say teenagers aren’t polite and kind, but that’s not the case with these two, Oscar Antonio Martinez and Kash Anthony Warren. We really do appreciate their efforts.
I just got a call from my sister, Sarah Belle in Cincinnati. She said she wanted to come up but will not get out in this weather. She seems to be doing okay now.
Red has received calls from his sister Jean Hunsucker and niece Carleta Adams, and I finally heard from my brother Henry Warren in Murray.
Henry’s okay, but had a bad December. His hot water tank quit, his furnace quit and he met up with two deer. One deer gave him a broken headlight and dented door, the other deer hit his truck and did lots of damage. He said his family is well.
I need to thank several people for food they have brought in, Richard and Georgia, Ricky and Joyce, Bill and Helen Resor (Joyce’s parents), Jennifer Robke (Georgia’s niece), Catharine and Bill and Redia.
It’s really hard to cook when I only have a left hand and Red’s shingles are in his eye. We really appreciate everything everyone has done for us.
I’m sending this a day early so Catharine won’t have to come so late after work on Thursday night.
Wishing all of you a great day. Stay well, stay warm, love and prayers. Emma Lou Engle, 4801 Clifton Ave., Lorain, OH 44055, (440) 233-7548, emmalouengle@ yahoo.com.
