A Premium man convicted last week of possessing child pornography has also been sentenced to five years of probation on firearms charges.
Timothy Banks, 52, of Bee Tree Fork, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a defaced firearm. He was sentenced April 15 to probation, one day before his conviction at a jury trial on 10 counts of possession of matter portraying a minor in a sexual performance. The jury recommended five years more than the maximum of 20 years in each of those cases.
Under the probation order, Timothy Banks must pay a supervision fee, drug testing each month, court costs of $165, not violate any laws, be drug and alcohol free, and be subject to random drug testing.
