Della White succumbs at 101



Funeral services for Della Mae Mullins White, 101, of Jenkins, were held February 19 at Polly & Craft Funeral Home in Jenkins. Burial was in Green Acres Cemetery.

She died February 15 at the Dickenson County Medical Center in Clintwood, Va.

Born in Beefhide to the late Manford and Nancy Mullins, she was the widow of Sampson Andrew White.

She was the mother of the late Hursel Lee White, and was also preceded in death by four grandchildren, a great-grandchild, three sisters and seven brothers.

She was a member of McRoberts Old Regular Baptist Church, Jenkins Senior Citizens, and the AARP.

Surviving are five daughters, Virginia Daryl Bartram and Alpha Louise Mullins, both of Jenkins, Mary Ethel Brown of Mt. Sterling, Judy Gail Rowe of Clintwood, Va., and Joyce Ann McComas of Hurely, Va.; six sons, Billy West White of Redfox, Fred Kirby White, Ricky White and Samuel Homer White, all of Jenkins, Douglas McArthur White, Iowa City, Iowa, and Arvil White of Elkhorn City; and more than 50 grandchildren, 75 great-grandchildren, and 35 great-great-grandchildren.
