Denny Amburgey, 66, of Roxana, died Thursday at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard.
A son of Willa Sue Fields Amburgey of Roxana and the late Ted Amburgey, he was the owner of Amburgey’s Grocery Hardware and Furniture for more than 25 years.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, his classic cars and the occasional Western.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Debbie Amburgey; two sons, Jonathan Amburgey and wife Vanessa of Salt Lake City, Utah and Stephen Amburgey and wife Taffany of Georgetown; a daughter, Rebecca Randall and husband Chad of Louisville; a brother, Anthony Amburgey of Roxana; two sisters: Debbie Caudill and husband Dannie of Redfox and Vicki Blair and husband Evan of Jeremiah; and six grandchildren, Sophi, Vivienne, Everett, Kamryn, Kaisley, and Owen.
Mr. Amburgey was preceded in death by two brothers, Greg Amburgey and Tim Amburgey.
Funeral services were held August 30 at the Premium Baptist Church. Burial was in the Whitaker and Caudill Cemetery at Tolson.
Letcher Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
