Did you know?

You probably know that the Postal Service has a large workforce. It takes a lot of people to sort, transport and deliver your mail.

But I bet you didn’t know that:

• The Postal Service offers a wide range of career opportunities, excellent salaries and benefits, public-sector job security, and the chance to be a part of something substantial – delivering America’s mail.

• More than 100,000 professionals work for the Postal Service in engineering and logistics, finance, information technology, human resources, marketing and sales, international business and more.

• The Postal Service received the “Freedom Team Salute” pin from the U.S. Army for being one of the nation’s largest employers of Army veterans. More than 185,000 men and women – nearly a quarter of the Postal Service’s workforce – served in the military, the majority of them in the Army. Nearly 1,900 employees are currently serving in the National Guard, nearly 4,800 are currently in the Army Reserve and more than 4,000 current postal employees are retired Army veterans.

Hispanic Business magazine has named the Postal Service as one of the nation’s best places to work. The Postal Service is the only federal agency to make the magazine’s “Diversity Elite 60” list, which measures a company’s commitment to Hispanic hiring, promotion, marketing, philanthropy and supplier diversity.

Careers & the Disabled, a career-guidance and recruitment magazine for people with disabilities, picked the Postal Service as “Public-Sector Employer of the Year” for 2007. The Postal Service received the award “for its progressive efforts to recruit, hire, and promote people with disabilities.”

The Postal Service is a success thanks to the men and women who work here, serving your mailing needs.
