Dierks Bentley tickets on sale Saturday at 10

Tickets will go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. for country music star Dierks Bentley’s November 24 concert at the Eastern Kentucky Expo Center in Pikeville.

Pikeville is one of 30 U.S. cities included in Bentley’s “Throttle Wide Open” tour, which began October 4 in Rome, Ga.

Known as the hardest-working guy in country music, Bentley’s tour schedule has been at full tilt over the last four years. With the return of his arena headlining tour, he will spend the next four months focusing his attention on connecting with his fans in larger rooms.

“We aren’t at the level yet where we have the hi-def video screens or pyro or some crazy light show, so it’s just up to me and the guys in the band to go out there every night and connect with everyone in the audience … even the folks up in the nosebleeds,” explains Bentley. “If that means crowd surfing or pulling people up on the stage to dance, we’ll do whatever it takes.”

Music critics across the country are taking notice of Bentley’s high-energy set calling him “a consummate showman” and his 18-song set a “breathtaking barnburner of an affair.”

Opening the Pikeville concert will be Big Machine Records artist Jack Ingram, whose smash single “Wherever You Are” kicked off a clean sweep of hits that was followed by the Top 10 tongue-in-cheek rocker, “Love You;” Ingram’s rendition of “Lips of an Angel;” and “Measure of a Man.”

Tickets, $27.75 and $34.75 (not including fees), will be available by phone at 1-606-433- 1793 or on-line at www.ticketmaster.com.
