Pike County residents who suff ered damages during the July severe storms and flood can get one-onone information about federal and state disaster assistance at two locations.
The Mobile Disaster Recovery Centers, staffed by Kentucky Division of Emergency Management, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), are now open.
Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The centers are adjacent to Community Trust Bank in Marrowbone and Community Funeral Home in Pikeville.
Recovery center staff have technical support and Internet capability from the mobile units.
President Obama’s major disaster declaration on July 23 authorized help for individuals in Pike County affected by the recent severe storms, flooding, and mudslides.
Applicants can register on line at www.Disaster Assistance.gov or by calling toll-free 800-621-FEMA (3362). Those with hearing or speech disabilities can call TYY 800-462-7585.
