Dixons celebrate 50th anniversary

Bach Court

Happy 50th anniversary to Noble and Gaynell Dixon of Turkey Creek, Hallie. Fifty years and still going strong, something you very seldom hear about anymore. Congratulations and hope you have another 50 together.

Our Lay Renewal that took place at First Baptist Church of Whitesburg this weekend was really a great success. There were activities starting Thursday until Sunday night. We ate, prayed, ate again, prayed and some more ate again. There were small groups of people and there were people some of us didn’t know and we got to know.

The people from other states and places that the Lay Renewal team were from are: Barbara Anderson, Knightdale, N.C.; Beth and Greg Anderson, Limestone, Tenn.; Bruce and Kathy Byce, Anderson, S.C.; Jean Cannon, Courtland, Va.; Ginger and C.I. Chappell, Charlotte, N.C.; Bob and Phyllis Foy, Mooresville, N.C.; Teresa Gresham, Franklin, Va.; Maxine and Bill Hare, Kannapolis, N.C.; Don and Shirley Hooper, Salisbury, N.C.; Terry and Lois Monahan, Louisville, Ky.; Larry and Ann Parker, Eden, N.C.; Dewayne and Joann Peterson, Dacula, Ga.; William David Rakes, Eden, N.C.; Dr. Bill and Birute Whisnant, Raleigh, N.C.; and Kathy Harris, Knightdale, N.C.

Saturday morning, there was a meeting in some of the people’s homes where some of the Renewal team were attending. Hazel Watkins and I went to Melissa Newell’s home. She missed the youth so she went with me. We all had a great weekend.

Happy birthday to Sue Lowe of Bach Court. It was Sunday, April 28.

Danny Fred Ison, Maci and Sawyer came over Thursday and spent the day. We had fun. I always love spending time with my children and grandbabies.

Until next week, God bless. If anyone has anything they would like me to put in The Mountain Eagle, you can mail it to Margie Ison, 84 Bach Court, Whitesburg, Ky. 41858.
