Dollarhydes, Tyrees mark anniversaries

Big Cowan

Hello everyone! What a rainy and hot week we have endured. Kind of nice hearing thunder once in awhile. As long as the storms do not get too wicked I do not mind them.

Late happy anniversary to Stacy and Steve Dollarhide on July 14. Also, late happy anniversary to Debbie and Mike Tryee of UZ. They were married 38 years on July 19.

Late happy birthday to Wayne Turner, who turned 50 on July 19; and Rick Dobson on July 19 (he was 49). Leslie Callihan will be 31 years old on July 27; Aubrey Nicole Gamble will be two years old on July 28. She is a daughter of Samantha Callihan. I do not remember her daddy’s name. Happy birthday, sweetie.

Trish Ison died two years ago on July 28. She is missed by all who knew her.

Mr. and Mrs. Chris Taylor of Virginia have a new baby boy. His name is Phillip. Congratulations to them. Chris is a son of Arlene Collins of Hazard and the late Marvin Taylor Sr. of Ermine. Arlene loves babies and she will spoil this one every chance she gets, and I don’t blame her one bit. I know Marvin would have been so proud.

Agnes Maggard has hurt her good foot. I’m not sure if it’s broken or not. She sure had a time with her feet and ankles. God bless her.

Anna Maggard had her 30-year class reunion in Edinburg, Ind., Saturday night, and Archie Maggard received his master’s degree in Alabama recently. Proud of them.

Audrey Hammonds has been to the heart and lung doctors and received a good report. Charles is doing okay.

The late Clayton Dobson’s son needs our prayers. He has cancer. That disease has taken so many lives. Let’s pray for a cure.

My great-niece Tonya Fields had a wreck in Pikeville the other day. Looks like it totaled her Mustang. Thank God she is okay — cars can be replaced, people can’t. She will probably be a little sore for a while.

I made a mistake in last week’s paper. Francis Day turned 59 on July 22, not the 20th. Sorry for the inconvenience. He has been very busy trying to get his hay cut and picked up with all this rain — kind of hard to do.

Well folks, got to go for now. Have a good week, be kind to each other, keep someone in prayer.

Attend the church of your choice. Keep smiling until next time.
