DONATIONS — The Letcher County Food Pantry received a $6,200 grant from the EQT Foundation for the annual spring seed program. The food pantry has received financial assistance for the program from Equitable Resources for the past three year. The Mennonite Central Committee also has donated bulk seed to the program for a number of years. “With the help from EQT, the Mennonite group, and our loyal supporters, we were able to give seeds and plants to over 325 families throughout Letcher County,” said Geraldine McDonald, director of the food pantry. Pictured are Letcher County Judge/Executive Jim Ward, who presented the EQT donation, and Letcher County Food Pantry volunteer Sarah Nease.
