Congratulations to Michael and Victoria Watts of Mill Branch. They were graduated from Alice Lloyd College on Saturday.
Victoria is teaching at Cowan Elementary and Michael will start law school in Grundy, Va., in the fall. So proud of their accomplishments.
May 4, Elijah Grant Gordon, my great-nephew, celebrated his third birthday at his home in Shelbyville. He is the grandson of Mike and Donna Watts of Mill Branch, and his parents are Micca and Juddy Gordon.
Colton Johnson, grandson of Frieda and Billy Johnson of Cowan, celebrated his third birthday on May 4. His parents are Steven and Tanya Johnson of Whitesburg.
I went to my first Derby party on May 4 at the home of Cathryn Blair of Jeremiah. Lots of people, great food, lots of fun bidding on a horse. Hey, I won! This is an event she and her husband started. Gerald Blair was loved by a lot of people. He was well thought of.
Cathryn kept his memory going by continuing something he loved to celebrate, the Kentucky Derby. I personally didn’t know him, but after being around his family and hearing about him they make you fit right in.
From what I gather, he was a well known man. Thanks to Cathryn Blair and her family for a wonderful event.
Continue prayer for her and her family in the loss of her husband.
So glad our Mississippi cousins were all safe from harm’s way last week during all the tornadoes.
Collin Cruz, my grandson, started T-ball. First hit he made it to second base. Go, Collin Cruz Eversole! Grammy loves you.
Congratulations to Brandon and Amy Brock on the birth of their new baby girl, Lauren. They reside at Mayking.
Allergies are working on us all here on Cowan Creek. I’ve never had allergies until last year. Carolina Rayne, my granddaughter, had her first experience with allergies this week. The only thing you can do is use a vaporizer and give her baby Benadryl every other day. The doctors don’t want parents to use the product every day. They could become immune to the Benadryl.
Enjoy your week. I’m going to. The weather is going to be great.
