Doriss Jean Hampton Williams, 59, of Jenkins, died January 13 at Pikeville Medical Center.
Born in Knoxville, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Robert Buford Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Hoskins Hampton, a sister of the late Shirley Bethea, James Hampton, Buford Hampton Jr. and Johnny Hampton, and a granddaughter of the late Samuel Hoskins Sr. and Edith Hoskins.
She was a member of the New Freedom Worship Center in Jenkins and an evangelist.
Surviving are her husband of 38 years, Johnny R. Williams Sr.; two sons, Johnny R. Williams Jr. of Richmond, and C. Shaun Williams and wife Christy of Leitchfield; four grandchildren,
Aislynn Raylee Williams, Carley Araya Williams, Jerrick Porter Williams and Kendric Royce Williams; six sisters, Ruthie Wells of Plainfield, N.J., Mary Bond, Patricia Stover and husband Charles, Peggy Turner and husband Lawrence, and Brenda Watterson, all of Kingsport, Tenn., and Anita Cox and husband Edward of Church Hill, Tenn.; and three brothers, Robert O. Hampton and wife Jenney, and Ronald Hampton and wife Sharon, all of Cincinnati, Ohio, and William Hampton of Kingsport, Tenn.
Funeral services will be held January 19 at the New Beginnings Worship Center. Burial will be at the Oakview Cemetery, Big Stone Gap, Va.
