Douglas Banks rites held

Funeral services for Douglas Wesley Banks, 72, of Whitesburg, were held March 30 at Letcher Funeral Home. Burial was in Wesley Banks Cemetery at Ice.

A son of the late Wesley and Hester Banks, he died March 27 at Whitesburg Appalachian Regional Hospital.

He was a member and former pastor of the G. Bennett Adams Old Regular Baptist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and a retired coal miner.

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie Banks; a son, Faron Doug Banks; six daughters, Donna, Deborah, Diana, Darla, Doris and Denise; eight grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren.
