An AARP driver’s safety class will be held at the Letcher County Extension Office from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. on July 24.
The class is for persons age 50 and older. Participants will learn defensive driving techniques, new traffic laws and rules of the road. They will also learn how to adjust their driving to age-related changes in vision, hearing and reaction time. There are no tests or behind the wheel driving.

Cost of the class is $12 for AARP members and $14 for nonmembers.
During the month of July and August, any retired teacher or anyone who worked around the schools will only be charged $5.
