Drug indictments still sealed

Indictments naming thirteen people charged in a police roundup of drug trafficking suspects will remain sealed until those named in the indictments are arrested.

Operation UNITE (Unlawful Narcotics Investigations, Treatment and Education) officials announced March 15 that police arrested seven of 21 persons named in 35 felony indictments related to drug trafficking. Dale Morton, UNITE communications director, said the other names will not be released until the alleged drug dealers are arrested.

Morton said this week that one additional suspect, Joshua Blanton, 28, Lynn Street, Cumberland (Harlan County), was arrested late last week and was charged with second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance.
