Earnestine Spurlock rites held

Earnestine “Jean” Spurlock, 83, of Payne Gap, died April 27 at Pikeville Medical Center.

A daughter of the late Guy and Dessie Lee Hannah Crace, she was the widow of Thomas Spurlock. She was also preceded in death by three brothers: Charles Crace, Fred Crace and Raymond Crace, and a sister, Anna Jewel Hitchcock.

Surviving are three daughters, Mona Slone of Fairborn, Ohio, Nancy Harris of New Carlisle, Ohio, and Ruby Salyers and husband Mitchell of Jenkins; a son, James Blair and wife Rhonda of Jackson, Mich.; four brothers, Guy Franklin Crace of Dayton, Ohio, James Willis Crace and Leondis Crace, both of Staffordsville, and Eulas Crace of Paintsville; and a sister, Glayds Ratliff of Staffordsville.

Funeral services were held May 2 at Letcher Funeral Home. Burial was May 3at the Sam Bentley Cemetery at Payne Gap.
