Spring is in the air today! That life-giving sunshine is deceptive in that it looks so warm and is not very warm outside in the shade and the wind. They say if March comes in like a lion it will go out like a lamb. I am ready for that.
Our staff all have at least one COVID-19 vaccine and will be in line to get the second Pfizer vaccine as soon as we are eligible. We are trying to do our part to stay safe and keep our customers safe. Our dining room will re-open as soon as we are all vaccinated.
Easter Sunday comes on April 4 and we will have to forgo the breakfast with the Easter bunny for one more year. In place of that we will be having a drive-thru visit with the Easter bunny on Saturday March 27, at 12 to 2 p.m. The bunny will have treats for the children. Everyone is welcome.
We have so missed live music for our listening pleasure. We haven’t seen some of our favorite musicians for quite some time. Though we will still have to social distance and wear masks, it will be great to get back to something like normalcy. We are counting the days…
To keep everyone safe we are doing carry out, curbside, and deliveries. You may put on your mask and come in to order and select from our products. You will always be welcome.
Please do not try to order online. We cannot check messages if we are busy. Call (971) 867-4337 to order, please. If there is no answer call back, please. We do not have call waiting. Sorry for the inconvenience.
You may special order by Monday.
Remember these items will not always be available. They usually take a minimum of three hours each to prepare. Some take 24 hours. This is not frozen food or package mixes. That is the taste difference. These items are lovingly prepared from the best things we can lay our hands on. Only the best for you…
We have partnered with Fast FUD to deliver. They will deliver your order for $7 within 15 miles of Black Sheep Bakery. If you live farther than 15 miles away, don’t fret. They charge just 25 cents for each additional mile. Just call and place your order and they will pick it up and bring it to your doorstep or workplace. It’s a great service. They always wear gloves and a mask and contactless delivery can be arranged by asking. We are thankful for this new enterprise in the community.
Our hours are Thursday and Friday from 4:30 to 9 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Pizza is not available until 4:30 p.m. on those days as it takes that long for the oven to heat back up. Remember we are cooking with wood in a primitive oven. There is no temperature control dial so we cannot turn it up or down. We are cooking the ancient way. We are subject to Mother Nature’s whims.
Important: You can bring the children to do their schoolwork if you don’t have a good connection. We ask that a responsible adult accompany the children and see to them. Wi-Fi available 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days per week. You are welcome!
“Because all our children are above average.” Garrison Keillor
The new pavilion provides us with a place for family gatherings and outside marketing of goods made or grown in our community can also happen on Saturday mornings. If you see folks out there peddling their wares, stop and check it out. Please feel free to schedule outside events when you need to. We ask the scheduling to omit Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. as we want to encourage a neighborhood marketplace for cottage industry and entrepreneurial pursuits. We have a vision to boost the economy through tourism and cottage industry. Hopefully you will add us to your list of stops on Saturday mornings since the bakery is open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Lost Lamb Productions: There is a space that has been made to market craft items inside on consignment. If you are interested in marketing your art with us, please let us know. Two vendors have brought their wares so far. Our three venders are making sales and making some money. We have a new vender. Young & Co. has a line of soy-based candles, wax melts, and soaps that are all wonderful. When you visit us you can check it out.
If you are interested in T-shirts and aprons check out our merchandise page website above. You can purchase online.
Check out our menu on Facebook. Don’t forget if you want to ensure you get what you need, please call and place an order with us by Monday evening the week you need it. That way we will have a heads up and can plan our week for maximum efficiency to make your request. We want our products to be fresh so we do not make things days ahead. We do not use preservatives therefore we cannot make things much ahead. Our GMO-free products are made by hand the ancient way. Our breads and pastries take all day to make. Many of them are made from fermentation methods that take 24 hours or more. We make our foods from scratch.
Weekly Quote: Gratitude is a powerful catalyst for happiness. It’s the spark that lights a fire of joy in your soul. Amy Collette
Events: The bakery will remain open regular hours for carry out, curbside, and delivery. Music events are canceled until the government restrictions are lifted. Thank you!
Inclement weather policy: In case of cancellation of events please check the Facebook accounts two hours before the scheduled event for postings.
Stay safe and sound! We will make it through this with the help of God and our leaders. Cooperation and extreme care are what it takes. See you soon!
