ECCO finishing summer projects

Greetings from the Eolia Christian Community Outreach Center.

“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you . . .” Matthew 6:14

Fall is upon us and we’ll be waking any morning now to discover that old man Jack Frost has paid us a visit. This is such a wonderful time of the year when the frost is on the pumpkin and our beloved mountains get all gussied up in shades of orange, red and gold.

At ECCO we’re trying to finish up some projects from the summer. Sheldon almost has the storage room complete and just in time to store furniture, lawn supplies and other large items. Eolia

Sometimes we get an overflow of produce and other food items and have no place to store them. Sheldon’s next project is to build a storage area for the overfl ow so we’ll be able to keep some of the produce until pantry day rolls around. Here lately it seems the needs come faster then we can deliver and besides that we’re down four volunteers due to various reasons. But we’ve always managed to get it done before and with the good Lord’s help we will again.

A big thanks to the girls from KRCC who made up 65 food boxes for our pantry. They were a real lifesaver as they cheerfully and effi ciently worked to get the job done.

As many of you know, Ted Corder is still in the hospital and we continue to ask that you please lift him up in your prayers as well as his family at this very painful time in their lives.

Stephanie Estep will soon begin another round of chemotherapy so please remember her as well.

Gloria Beachy one of ECCO’s board members, and Kess Halcomb ECCO’s vice president, are also dealing with health issues. Also remember them in your prayers.

With that I’ll leave you with this thought for the day. Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them quite so much.
