Greetings to all from the Eolia Christian Community Outreach Center.
“He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.” 1 John 2:10.
Frosty mornings, blue skies and the clear, crisp air make one realize this is a truly wonderful time of the year. ECCO is especially busy around this time and even though I can’t do the physical work I did 30 years ago, I’m so grateful to the good Lord for allowing me to continue the work I love.
Our three days of open house were such fun and a wonderful opportunity to see old and new faces. It was great to see Jolinda Wright, an old classmate, and other new faces I hadn’t seen in years as well as our regular friends and neighbors.
Congratulations to Georgia Dickerson and Wanda Pauley for each winning a $50 door prize gift certifi- cate. When I called Georgia with the news, I received a big squeal of delight.
The success of our open house is largely due to the efforts of our live-in couple, Sheldon and Marie Starr. Marie provided refreshments by making her delicious variety of cookies and punch.
She and Sheldon worked tirelessly for hours sorting and pricing the many Christmas items displayed. They have such giving hearts and we love and appreciate them more than they know.
Sheldon is still having some health issues and we ask that you please lift him up in prayer.
We still have lots and lots of Christmas items, so come check us out and save some money.
With that I’ll close with this thought for the day: The world needs more warm hearts and fewer hot heads.
This week our prayer list includes: The victims and families of Paris, France, Sheldon Starr, June Maggard, Jimmy Maggard, Jan Galloway, Betty Maggard, Verdall Sturgill, Shirley Lewis, Betty Terry, Collettia Estep, Clay Sturgill Gloria Beachy, Garland Couch, Nora Walker, Marie Snell, and Brenda Gross.
Also lift up in prayer those struggling with drug and alcohol addiction, may they be delivered, our military troops around the world, the United States, the President and the leaders of our country, all the children hurt by war, and the ministry of ECCO.
Until next time from the folks at ECCO, God bless.
