Happy anniversary to a very special couple, Efford and Yvonne Sexton Tackett. They are one of the happiest couples ever and I love them both. Yvonne is my cousin and Efford became a cousin when he married Von.

Colson Senior Citizens Center has a new site manager and she is no stranger, Rachel Baker. Rachel’s mom is Elisha Baker. Rachel will do a fantastic job as did Elisha.

If you want to have a good day come to our center. It’s a wonderful place to meet old and new friends. The centers serve a lot of needs, not just for the nourishment of our bodies but our minds need the interaction with people. I love to go when I can.

Happy birthday to Bill Howard, Neecie Scott, Caleb Baker, and Gina Hall Dotson.

My great-niece Ashley Shea Benton has been accepted to attend the 2012 UK Rural Health Enrichment Medical Camp in Hazard. She was chosen as valedictorian of the Whitesburg Middle School Class of 2012. We are so proud of her, and wish her the very best.

Our deepest sympathy to the family of Bennett Sexton of Colson, to Zelma June and all the family. May God bless you.

My cousin Amanda Calhoun Roberts died on Saturday at the Hazard ARH. She would have been 90 at her birthday. At her visitation were so many of our cousins that I had not seen for many years. Vince and Amanda were so loved, you could tell by the crowd that attended. It was good to see June and David Short. I hadn’t seen June in about five years. Keep Vince in your prayers, as well as all her family.

Our sympathy to Oscar Isaacs Jr., whose wife died this week. Jr. is a brother to Tex Isaacs and a cousin to Clester.

I stopped by Coolie and Janice’s and visited with their family. I enjoyed holding Noah, but if Katina is around she hogs him and rarely lets anyone else have a turn. Noah is growing so much and is such a good baby and his sister is so proud of him. David and Carol Halcomb were also visiting with them.

Maxine and Joann went dancing this weekend. I found out why Maxine goes; she says it’s for her health. I guess that’s a good enough reason to go, but I personally thought it was to dance with all the good-looking guys.

Get well wishes for Jesse Quillen. He hurt his ankle and is on crutches for a few days.

Take care and remember to check on your neighbors. Please continue to pray for Clester, Danny and Geneva Akemon and all who are sick.
