Eight receive sentences

An Eolia woman has entered a plea of guilty in Letcher Circuit Court to charges against her.

Shirley Priscilla Phillips, 61, of 5188 Ky. Hwy. 932, Eolia, pleaded guilty to first-degree disorderly conduct, second-degree criminal trespass, menacing, third-degree assault, first-degree wanton endangerment, resisting arrest, third-degree terroristic threatening, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs (first offense with aggravating circumstances, use/possession of drug paraphernalia and first-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (first offense, methamphetamine).

Phillips was sentenced to five years imprisonment, probated for five years.

Seven other people also pleaded guilty. They are:

• Emory Mitchell Mullins, 47, of 40 Lonesome Dove Drive, McRoberts, who pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), buy/possession of drug paraphernalia (with firearm enhancement), and tampering with physical evidence.

In a second indictment, Mullins was charged with possession of a firearm by convicted felon.

Mullins was sentenced to five years imprisonment to run concurrently with a sentence of one-year imprisonment for the charge in the second indictment.

• Jake D. Taulbee, 41, of 62 Urye Rd., Whitesburg, who pleaded guilty to charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance (first offense, methamphetamine), use/possession of drug paraphernalia, and first-degree promoting contraband.

Taulbee was sentenced to seven years imprisonment probated for five years.

• William Logan Rose, 25, of 787 Brushy Fork, Jenkins, who pleaded guilty to charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance (first offense, methamphetamine), first-degree trafficking a controlled substance (methamphetamine, two grams or less), use/possession of drug paraphernalia (firearm enhancement) and receiving stolen property (firearm).

Rose was sentenced to three years imprisonment.

• Curtis Wayne Anderson, 73, of 35 Lonesome Dove Drive, McRoberts, who pleaded guilty to charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/substance (first offense) and first-degree wanton endangerment.

Anderson was sentenced to three years imprisonment probated for five years.

• Michael D. Spangler, 33, of 124 Tunnel View Circle, Middlesboro, who pleaded guilty to charges of public intoxication (excludes alcohol), first-degree possession of a controlled substance, and first-degree controlled substance prescription not in original container.

Spangler was sentenced to three years imprisonment.

• James Dale Kincer, 44, who pleaded guilty to charges of first-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle) and two charges of resisting arrest.

Kincer was sentenced to three years imprisonment.

• Allan Brimmer, II, 28, of 329 Elaine Rd., Premium, who pleaded guilty to a charge of unlawful possession of methamphetamine precursor (first offense).

Brimmer was sentenced to five years imprisonment, probated for five years.
