ELDER ABUSE AWARENESS —







May is Elder Abuse Awareness Month and the Kentucky River Area Development District’s Elder Abuse Council, area Conservation Districts, the Extension Service, senior citizens centers, local governments, DCBS and APS partnered to plant a tree to commemorate the month. The tree, which was purchased by the Letcher County Soil Conservation District, was planted May 12 at the Letcher County Courthouse, and Judge/Executive Jim Ward signed a proclamation declaring May as Elder Abuse Awareness Month in Letcher County.
