Emil Eldridge

Letcher County native Emil Eldridge, 75, died October 31 at his home in Somerset.

Born in Blackey to the late Henry & Lucinda Fields Eldridge, Eldridge was a retired factory worker from Southern Molding in Frankfort, where he worked for 24 years. He was a member of Friendship Old Regular Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Day Eldridge; two sons, Harold Eldridge of Somerset, Kenneth (Patricia) Eldridge of Bronston; a daughter Barbara Renee Eldridge of Bronston; a brother, Hubert Eldridge of Blackey; three sisters, Betty Sue Williams of Shelbyville, Indiana, Stella Shelton of Crab Orchard, and Arlie Simpson of Waynesburg. Also surviving are four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, ten step-great-grandchildren.

Emil was preceded in death by a daughter, Frieda Pruitt; five brothers, Arthur, Carl, Elmer, Raymond & Drew Eldridge; and two sisters, Eva Leach and Leona Eldridge.

Funeral services for Eldridge were held November 3. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery.
