Ella Preston writes home

Big Cowan

Ella Preston and the late John Preston were both schoolteachers for many years in Letcher County. Big Cowan correspondent Christine Fields says, “She was my first and second grade teacher. She has always been one of my favorite people in life. I started first grade when I was five years old and she was my first mentor. I have always felt like she had a part in who I am today. Love you, Mrs. Preston.”

Hello everyone! Hope all is well.

I have been sick with a sinus infection and haven’t been out very much. Seems like it has been so long since I have been able to see Archie with all the sickness going around.

Do not want to take anything in on him. He is doing much better. Hopefully he will be home soon.

I received a nice letter from Ella Preston the other day. Glad to hear she is doing okay. She sent me a picture of her and John.

Love getting pictures. If anyone would like to write or send cards, I’m sure she would appreciate hearing news from home. Here is her address: Ella Preston, Rm. 305, Florence Park Care Center, 6975 Burlington Pike, Florence, KY 41042

Just got news my husband’s sister, Dana Brown, has lung and brain cancer. Please keep her in prayer.

Audrey and Charles Hammonds were in town on business and stopped by. Audrey is really in bad health. Keep her in prayer.

Still remember Agnes Maggard in prayer. Her health is not real good either. She takes it a day at a time.

Irene and Eugene Day have been sick with sinus infections, and now the rest of the family is getting it. Keep all of them in prayer.

So much sickness and deaths, we all need prayer.

Kathy Wolfe (my sister) had tests run, and she has some small, bleeding ulcers. The doctor says she has to quit smoking and drinking coffee.

That will be really hard for her to do. Keep her in prayer.

Sorry to cut this short. Still not feeling well. I hate not to write something.
